Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Move-Me, operated by Inka-Tech Solutions (Pty) Ltd, collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of the Republic of South Africa.
1. Who We Are
Inka-Tech Solutions (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the responsible party (as defined under POPIA) for personal information collected through the Move-Me mobile application and website.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
From all users:
- Full name, email address, and phone number
- Profile photo (selfie)
- South African ID number
- Residential address
- Location data (GPS coordinates during active trips)
- Device information and push notification token
- Payment information (processed securely via PayFast — we do not store card details)
- In-app messages and communications
- Ratings and reviews
Additionally from drivers:
- Copy of South African ID document
- Driver's licence photo
- Vehicle licence disc, number plate photo, and registration number
- 4-angle vehicle photographs
- Date of birth
3. Why We Collect Your Information
- Identity verification — to vet all users (both senders and drivers) and maintain a safe, trusted marketplace
- Service delivery — to match senders with available drivers, enable real-time tracking, and facilitate payments
- Safety and dispute resolution — to investigate reported incidents, scams, or criminal activity; your identity information may be provided to law enforcement authorities with a valid legal request
- Communication — to send push notifications, in-app messages, and service updates
- Legal compliance — to comply with applicable South African laws, court orders, and regulatory requirements
- Fraud prevention — to detect and prevent fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activity
- App improvement — aggregated and anonymised data to improve the platform
4. Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Other users — limited profile information (name, vehicle photo, rating) visible to the other party in a confirmed job
- PayFast — payment processing (governed by PayFast's own privacy policy)
- Firebase / Google — our cloud infrastructure provider for data storage and authentication
- Law enforcement — when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public
- Our admin team — for driver verification review and dispute investigation
5. Location Data
Move-Me collects your GPS location only during active trips (when a job is in progress). Location data is used for real-time tracking and route purposes. We do not track your location when the app is closed or when no trip is active.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Identity verification documents (ID, driver's licence, vehicle photos) are retained for a minimum of 3 years after account closure to comply with legal obligations and for dispute resolution purposes.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@moveme.app. Deletion requests are subject to our legal retention obligations.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Firebase Authentication with encrypted credential storage
- Cloud Firestore with role-based security rules
- Firebase Storage with access controls for sensitive documents
- All payments processed via PCI-compliant PayFast infrastructure
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the Information Regulator as required under POPIA.
8. Your Rights Under POPIA
As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to the processing of your personal information
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za

9. Children
Move-Me is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will terminate it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Move-Me after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
